Join us in Celebrating Dr Melissa Sherman

On March 22, 2023, the Essex South District awarded Essex County OB/GYN Dr. Melissa Sherman with its Community Clinician of the Year Award in recognition of her work as Medical Director of the Compass Moms Do Care Program. Since 2017, the Compass Program has provided medical care, recovery support, and DCF advocacy for 270 women with a history of substance use who are pregnant or parenting a child up to the age of three. Women who are engaged with the Compass Program are more likely to receive prenatal and postnatal care, breastfeed, maintain recovery, and retain custody of their infants. Congratulations to Dr. Sherman and the Compass Moms Do Care team!
