Dr. DiChiara Bids Farewell to Essex County OB/GYN After 36 Remarkable Years

After 36 years of practice here on the North Shore, it is bittersweet for me to write this letter to inform you that I will be retiring from the practice of medicine on December 31, 2024. I am both humbled and honored by the trust you have placed in me throughout the years. I am proud and privileged to have been a part of Essex County OB/GYN Associates for over 3 decades. I have enjoyed every minute of caring for you and your family.

I have been fortunate to work with skilled and compassionate colleagues and staff since my arrival from residency in August 1988. The value of a group practice like Essex County OB/GYN is the continuity of care offered by many skilled professions — the physicians, midwives, physician assistants, nurse practitioners as well as the support staff.  I’m sure you have met or even seen many of my colleagues over the course of the years. I wanted to take this opportunity to introduce several of my newer colleagues:

Dr. Courtney Fox, MD is a minimally invasive gynecologic surgical specialist. She has training in both advanced laparoscopy and robotic surgeries.

Dr. Erika Wallace, MD is an OB/GYN generalist physician. She completed her training at Tufts/NEMC in 2022. Dr. Wallace is accepting both gynecologic and obstetric patients in our Beverly location.

Dr. Margaret Nemetz, MD is an OB/GYN generalist physician. She will join the practice in October of this year. She will complete her training at Tufts/NEMC. Dr. Nemetz will be accepting both gynecologic and obstetric patients in our Beverly location for the fall of 2024.

In addition to our physicians, we have a wonderful group of Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants who are highly skilled in routine obstetric and gynecologic care and collaborate closely with our physicians.

Again, I would like to express my deepest gratitude that you have entrusted your care to me in my very rewarding career.

With appreciation and respect,

David DiChiara, MD
