I am writing this letter to let you know that I will be retiring from the practice of medicine on December 31, 2025. As many of my dear patients know, I started here in Beverly in August of 2000. I have so many wonderful memories made with the women of the North Shore. I almost cannot believe it when patients tell me about their child whom I delivered, “who graduated from college” now… yikes! Somehow I got that old with you all! We went from having our children together, to managing children, partners, and lives together — and now we have had our menopausal weight gain together! I have even been fortunate enough to take care of some of my patients’ daughters! It is now time for me to start another chapter…
I am leaving you in the best of hands. Dr. Erika Wallace and Dr. Margaret Nemetz are two new physicians who have been here at Essex County OBGYN for a couple of years that are happily accepting new patients. Dr. Charlotte Lee is also joining our group in the winter, and we all trained at Tufts/New England Medical Center. We are fortunate to have the most talented and kindest group of midwives working with us if you are leaning towards midwifery care. Our physician assistants and nurse practitioners have been helping me take care of you for all these years and are excellent caregivers on their own.
It has truly been the privilege of my lifetime to participate in the care of so many women here on the North Shore. I have been proud to work in a state that lets clinicians and women make decisions together and without interference regarding care. And I have been the most proud to work alongside an amazing group of clinicians and support staff whom I have called my work family for 25 years. I have been surrounded by so many strong, amazing, and resilient women, both co-workers and patients.
Please take good care, and I wish you all the best.
Most sincerely,
Cara Chuderewicz, MD
