Essex County OB/GYN is proud to share that Beverly Hospital, home to the practice’s Beverly location, has been named one of Greater Boston’s Top Hospitals for Surgery by Boston Magazine, with recognition in categories directly related to the care of women in the community.
Beverly Hospital was recognized as a top hospital for OB/GYN surgery, C-section surgery, and cancer surgery. The hospital also received recognition for hip replacement and mastectomy procedures. The inaugural Boston Magazine guide was developed in partnership with Castle Connolly and evaluates hospitals based on medical insurance claims data spanning multiple commercial and public payors and patient outcome measures, including complication and mortality rates, patient safety, recovery times, discharge rates, and beyond. The methodology also incorporates Castle Connolly Top Doctors and physician nomination data.
For Essex County OB/GYN, the recognition reinforces the importance of providing patients with high-quality care close to home, and is especially meaningful for patients preparing for childbirth or gynecologic surgery. Boston Magazine notes that choosing where a procedure takes place can be just as important as choosing the physician, with factors such as a surgical track record, specialized teams, and postoperative care contributing to the patient experience and outcomes.
